Framing Personality

A perspective on confidence

I think everyone should speak to strangers more often. The different personalities and priorities of each and every human is so inspiring. To see and speak to someone who is completely themselves and enjoying being who they are is utter bliss.

When you speak to a child, they aren’t afraid to tell you anything or to do anything in front of anyone. They will run around in their underwear and dance around without a single worry of what anyone thinks. This is such a beautiful trait that we seem to lose as we age. Society tells us to silence that inner child that lives within all of us.

But as we spent that day on the Beltline, speaking and photographing people as they passed by, we couldn’t help but find adults that let their personalities shine. Whether that was roller skating with their best friend or running barefoot on a paved path. It was so incredible to see someone who could be who they were meant to be unabashedly. And confidence is such an interesting characteristic. In the world we live in there seems to be no reason anyone should have it. We are constantly surrounded by insecurity that should push us all back inwards, never to share ourselves with the world. But some how, when we face that insecurity inside of us and truly face it. We can find our individual personalities that shine brighter than any doubts that may wander into our minds.

I myself have only recently felt confident enough to express my true self with the world. If it wasn’t for so many inspiring people in my life, I’d still be silent. I wouldn’t be posting talking Instagram stories of failed lattes I have attempted to pour and I most certainly wouldn’t be an actor. So, I charge you with these thoughts to begin finding your own confidence in this scary world we live in.

Thank you to all those who inspired me that day on the Beltline and reminded me to let my inner child out and share my personality with the world. Maybe Austin and I will be able to frame your personality next.
